It’s finally time for some much needed fun in the sun! If you’re in a rut, limited in time or short on ideas, consider some of the following local activities:

The Legacy Trail
Conveniently located, the Legacy Trail is 12 miles that runs from the east end of downtown to the Kentucky Horse Park. Walk, run, rollerblade or bike the entire length, or just the 8.5 mile stretch that is fully paved and off of the street.

Parks and Recreation Activities
The Lexington Parks and Recreation department has many programs of activities for all ages. Search their Web site.

Second Sunday Events
Second Sunday events, in its 2nd year, coordinates monthly activities throughout the state and locally. The next event is biking on July 10. John’s Run/Walk Shop
John’s Run/Walk Shop provides a local race calendar for anyone interested in walking or running races of any distance. There is usually an event every weekend during summer that is within driving distance of Lexington: http://www.johnsrunwalkshop.com/race_calendar.html
